Arsenal suffered a big blow in the title race with a draw. Arsenal needed a win against Southampton to clinch the league title. However, the Gunners were sitting down to lose against the team at the bottom of the table. Arteta’s team had to be satisfied with the draw after two last-minute goals.

Arsenal took on Southampton in the English Premier League on Friday night (April 21) at home at the Emirates Stadium in a battle to advance in the title race. However, the Gunners trailed by two goals after 14 minutes of the match.

Carlos Alcarez gave Southampton the lead in the first minute. And in the 14th minute, the Saints took the lead for the second time against the Gunners with the goal of former Arsenal footballer Walcott.

However, in the 20th minute of the match, Gabriel Martinelli scored a goal. The Gunners went into the break trailing 2-1. Arsenal came back from the break more desperate for a goal. However, in the 66th minute, Southampton took a two-goal lead in the match with Chaleta-Carr’s goal.

When it was thought that the hosts will leave the field with a loss. Then the return home of two of Arsenal’s stars this season. Martin Odegaard closed the gap with a goal in the 88th minute of the match. Two minutes later Arsenal’s English winger Bukayo Saka equalized again.

In the end, the Gunners left the field with a draw, but there is no peace in mind! Because as a result of this draw, Manchester City’s chances of winning the title became stronger. Arsenal are at the top of the table though. However, they have played two matches more than City and they have a 5 point lead over City.
