Liverpool started the year with a thrilling win. Even though Liverpool dominated the whole match, Newcastle United did not lose. They had a chance to get back into the match until the 86th minute. But in the end, the All Reds left the field with a victory in a thrilling match of 6 goals thanks to the skills of Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool defeated Newcastle 4-2 in the Premier League match at Anfield on Monday (January 1) night. Salah scored a brace for the Allreds. One goal each came from the feet of Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo. Alexander Isak and Sven Boatman scored one each for Newcastle.

Liverpool did not score any goals in the first half even though they dominated from the beginning. Newcastle were also scoreless. The main battle is concentrated in the second half. All 6 goals came in the second half. However, the number of goals could have increased if the Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Duvroka had not become a wall of China in Newcastle’s goal.
Egyptian forward Salah gave Liverpool the lead in the 49th minute. He sent the team into despair by missing a penalty in the 22nd minute. But this time he did not miss the opportunity. Darwin Nunez took a great pass from Dias and sent the ball into the six yard box from the right side. Salah put the ball into the net with a perfect tap.

However, Salah brought Liverpool back to relief by scoring a penalty in the 86th minute. Duvraoka, who kept Newcastle from conceding so many goals throughout the match, was fouled while blocking the d-box. The referee blows the penalty whistle with the help of VAR. Salah scored his double in the match with a successful spot kick. Liverpool left the field with a 4-2 victory.
