Silva said goodbye to all types of football. Manchester City’s legendary Spanish footballer David Silva has retired from all forms of football. The star announced his retirement on Thursday (July 27) after suffering from a knee injury.

Announcing his retirement, Silva said, ‘Today is a very sad day for me. I am saying goodbye to whom I gave everything in life. Today is the day to say goodbye to teammates and colleagues. They are like family to me. I will miss you (Valencia, Eibar, Celta, Man City and Real Sociedad). Thank you for making me feel at home.’
Silva has played in the Manchester City jersey for almost a decade. He played 436 matches from 2010 to 2020. He scored 77 goals and 140 assists. Then he signed up for Real Sociedad. This time, the 37-year-old footballer said goodbye to all types of football.

Apart from Manchester City, Real Sociedad, Silva played for Valencia, this time, for Celta Vigo. During his club career, he won four Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, five Carabao Cups, two Community Cups, and two Copa del Reys.
Silva, who made his debut for Spain in 2006, last played for the national team in 2018. He scored 35 goals and 32 assists in 125 matches in the country’s jersey. Won the FIFA World Cup and two Euro titles for the country.
