Russian forces have hit a multi-storey apartment block in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, local officials say.

Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said there had been two strikes on the city from guided bombs in a post on Telegram.

There was no word yet on casualties or damage.

Earlier, Ukraine’s foreign minister said he was concerned by intelligence suggesting nuclear facilities could be targeted before the winter.

Andrii Sybiha urged the UN’s nuclear watchdog and Ukraine’s allies to establish permanent monitoring missions at the country’s nuclear plants.

Russian forces launched three strikes on Friday on Kharkiv, with the city’s mayor Ihor Terekov writing on Telegram that two city districts had been hit.

Seven civilians, including three children, were hurt in the attacks, according to Mayor Terekhov, while 15 people were wounded by airstrikes earlier in the evening.
