He was nominated in three categories of the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly (ESPY) Awards.
The ESPY Awards are presented annually by US broadcaster ABC. Messi has been nominated for this award. The Argentine football wizard was nominated in three categories.

On Thursday (June 22), Messi was nominated for the Puskar in the Best Athlete category. Also nominated in this category are Serbian basketball star Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, baseball star Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes of Kansas City.
Messi also received a nomination for ‘Best Championship Performance’. He got this evaluation after winning the World Cup in Qatar with a monstrous performance last year. England’s martial artist Leon Edwards, Nikola Jokic and American golfer Rose Jung have also received nominations for ‘Best Championship Performance’.
Messi has also been nominated in the best footballer category. Arling Holland, Barcelona women’s soccer player Aytina Bonmati and America’s Sophia Smith were also nominated in this list.
Sports fans can vote for the nominated stars. ABC will announce the winners on July 12 after the voting ends.
