Chelsea wasted many chances in the first half against Wolves. In the 32nd minute of the match, Raheem Sterling wasted an easy goal chance. Chelsea get the ball from Wolves’ corner. Three Chelsea players entered the D-box of Wolves on the counter attack. In contrast, the Wolves goalkeeper was alone. But Sterling tried to score himself instead of passing to his teammate. Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa became the hero by stopping the ball.
Also, Nicholas Jackson missed two easy chances in the first half. Chelsea scored early in the second half. Lemina gave Wolves the lead with a header from a corner in the 51st minute of the match. Chelsea then launched several attacks but none of them were sharp.

Irish defender Matt Doherty doubled Wolves’ lead in the third minute of added time. Despite a late goal from substitute Christopher Nkuku, Chelsea could not avoid their eighth defeat of the season. And this season, this is Chelsea’s fourth consecutive loss at home. This is the first time since 2000 that Chelsea have lost four consecutive away matches in the league.
After this loss, Chelsea is in tenth place with 22 points in 18 matches with 6 wins and 4 draws. Wolves also have 22 points in the draw. However, they are one step behind Chelsea on goal difference.
