All the League Cup round of sixteen matches took place on Wednesday (October 2). Newcastle and Everton are in the quarter with Chelsea, Liverpool. The remaining four teams in the quarter-finals are West Ham, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Port Vale.

Arsenal did not care about playing in the opponent’s field. After conceding a self-inflicted goal in the first half, the current runners-up of the Premier League scored two more goals in the second half. Martin Odegaard’s goal in extra time only narrowed the gap. Mikel Arteta’s disciples left the field with a 3-1 defeat.

Although Arsenal lost in the opponent’s field, Manchester United was caught in their own field. The Red Devils lost 3-0 against Newcastle, who beat City in the round of sixteen. Eric Ten Haag’s team was knocked out of the match after conceding two goals in the first half. In the second half, English midfielder Joe Willock increased the gap a little more.

Chelsea won easily at home. They beat Blackburn 2-0 and advanced to the quarters. Raheem Sterling and Benwa scored one goal each for Chelsea. Their opponents in the 8-team round are Newcastle.

Liverpool took the early lead at Bournemouth but struggled in the second half. In the 64th minute, Justin Kluivert’s goal equalized the hosts. However, Liverpool took the lead again in the 70th minute with Darwin Nunez’s goal. In the end, Jurgen Klopp’s team entered the quarter with a 2-1 victory.
